Baby 98: So much cat hair!

As always, the children are growing up fast.  Soon after the birth of baby Jayda, the triplets age into bright young adults and move out.  Genevieve is going to Lucky Palms to study sociology, Yasmyna is got a scholarship to an engineering school in Barnacle Bay, and Quentin is working at becoming a pediatrician.

Aiden is now entering his teen years.  He is a bit tentative at going to high school because of his unique looks but he's strong and I know that he can achieve his goals without being teased.  He seemed to have no trouble in elementary and junior high school so high school shouldn't be any different.  He also shares me intense interest in cats and wants to become a veterinarian.

Ursellia is fascinated by mythical creatures and loves reading fantasies.  She loves dressing up but doesn't mind getting down and dirty every once in a while.

Jayda is my total girly girl.  She'd wear dresses and tiaras every day if she could, but of course, that would be difficult because she enjoys playing on the playground with her sister and that's pretty messy.  She is absolutely adorable with my blue eyes and her father's bright red hair.

The next father is the son of one of my good friends, Becks Best.  Her son's name is Cole and I'd be so happy for the next baby to get his purple hair or perhaps his beautiful, bright yellow eyes.

"I'll take care of the cats while you have your girl's day out," Aiden announces one Saturday morning.  He bends down and says to Aquamarine, "You, me, and the other cats are going to have so much fun.  I know you want a treat, don't you?  Just wait here and I'll get you one."  Aiden leaves the room just as I do.  I walk into the master bathroom to find the girls already ready for our makeovers.

"I want my nails painted!"  Jayda claps excited.

Ursellia nods her head in agreement and adds, "I want my toes painted!"

"Okay, girls, pick your color," I tell them as I pull the box of nail polish out of the drawer.

"What are you going to do mommy?" Jayda asks.

"Hmmm, I think I'll pick blue.  It is my favorite color, you know," I grin.

"That's mine too!"  Ursellia pipes in.

After ten minutes, both girls have their toenails and fingernails done when I hear Aiden call for me.

"Mom!  I didn't know.  I didn't mean to.  She just... she just...," he sniffles as I run out into the foyer.

"Sweetie, what's wrong?  What are you talking about?"  Panic builds up inside of me and my heart rushes.  I'm expecting the very worst.

"Aquamarine went to take a nap while I was getting the treats and she didn't come when I called her so I when I found her asleep I tried to wake her up and she wouldn't wake up.  She's dead!"  He blurts out and more tears flow down his cheeks.

"Oh my god, darling I'm sorry you had to witness that," I console him.  We hold each other in embrace and the girls come in.

"What's wrong mom?  Why is everyone crying?"  Ursellia asks.  I pull her and Jayda into our circle of embrace and just squeeze them tightly.

After explaining what happened to Aquamarine, we bring her to the creamators the next day and set her ashes onto the shelf to be with the others.

A few weeks after Aquamarine passed, her husband, Brite, also went to kitty heaven.  He did seem a little different after he realized she was gone so perhaps he decided it was time to go up with her too.  I tell Adam about it in a chat that night and confirm his visit to my house tomorrow.

Sexypurple:  Could I come over in a few days?  Something... something came up.

I tell him it's no problem and refrain the urge to ask him what it was that "came up."  We say good-bye and it seems to take forever for the next few days to pass.

Finally, it's Friday and I hear the honk of the taxi, which immediately causes me to put down what I'm doing and run to the door.  I see Adam walking up the deck and I open the door to let him in.

"Adam!  So nice to see you!"  I greet cheerfully.  "What's this?"  I ask, as my gaze drifts from his eyes to his arms.

"Well, you and the kids seemed quite down after the death of your two cats so I decided that the line of cats needed to continue and perhaps this pretty lady could cheer you up."

"Oh Adam, she's gorgeous!  Where did you get her?  Is she the reason you couldn't come on Monday?"

Adam nods, "One of the people looking at my house asked me if I'd like her and I said no at first, but after I chatted with you, I was able to contact the people and pick up this lovely girl the next day.  Her name is Dream."

"Dream!  What a wonderful name for such a beautiful cat.  Can I hold her?"  I take Dream from Adam's arms and right as she lands in my arms, her motor starts to purr.

"She's so friendly and soft.  Jayda, look at the new kitty Adam brought over.  We're going to adopt her.  Her name is Dream," I say to Jayda, as she crawls into the foyer.

"Kitty!"  She squeals.  Then she walks over to Adam and asks to be held.

Adam picks her up and we walk to the living room where we chat and catch up.  As we're chatting, I notice how good of a father-figure Adam makes.  He's attentive to Jayda and even bounces her on his lap.  If I didn't know better, I would have thought she was his very own daughter.  Adam stays for dinner but leaves soon afterward, much to his and my dismay.  He has a conference to go to tomorrow morning.  

Sunny takes quite an interest in the new female in the household. He's decided to go with the "be annoying and perhaps she'll find me attractive" technique.

Meanwhile, my pregnancy is going well, as always. My doctor is amazed that I never have issues commonly associated with pregnancies and I'm very grateful for that. Because I am pregnant, I cannot practice my Sim Fu, but Aiden takes an interest in it and I am eager to teach him.

Believe it or not, Dream gives birth to eight rambunctious kittens, each unique in their own way. The first is Impression. He seems to be very interested in music and is always found in the kids' room or the music room. He especially loves to fall asleep to the sounds of the classical radio station.

Trance is the next kitten to be born.  He has an odd interest in plants.  The even more interesting thing about it is that he doesn't chew them like most cats.  Instead, he loves to just rub his face on them and will sometimes try to play with them.  His favorite plant is the little potted one on the coffee table.

Chimera is the third kitten to be born.  She has a sweet and very laid back personality.  She will also purr in response to human touch and loves to be held.  She's definitely a lap kitty.

The fourth is Reverie.  He's quite a vain cat and is fascinated by his reflection in mirrors, water, and shiny objects.

Mirage is the fifth kitten.  He enjoys being a giant and his favorite past time is hanging out with Jayda in her doll house.  She's the care taker of the house and he's the giant monster who crushes the furniture in his furry little paws.

Specter is the sixth kitten.  He's likes to hang out in small crevices and jump out at people.  It sounds like a terrible habit but he's never too rough about it.  

Imagine the seventh kitten born.  She loves clothing and will curl up in the clothes basket.  It's cute but also a bit dangerous.  We found out the hard way when I almost threw her into the washing machine.

The last kitten is Fantasy.  She enjoys hanging outside and will do anything to escape into the backyard.

Sunny and Dream make great parents, most of the time.  Sometimes Sunny will get a bit distracted and hog all of the kittens' toys.  Neon acts as a very good grandfather and will supervise the playtime.  

Pretty soon, my water break and baby 98 is born.

The Smith family introduces Jed Beckett Smith into the household.  He's a lovely 8 lb. 2 oz. bundle of joy.

FAMILY UPDATE

Genevieve is the only one of the triplets to get married.  She marries Damon Canary.

Together, they have one son named Deacon.  He has his grandfather's awesome blue-green hair.
